Quercus Virginiana
One of the longest living trees, live oaks live 200-300 years. This majestic tree grows in humid climates and loves sandy soils close to water. Live oaks produce the hardest and heaviest wood available. Leaves are simple and alternatively arranged with an elliptical shape. Leaves are 2-5” long and remain green all year. Acorns are plentiful from this tree and feed a host of animals.
