This palm offers a deep root system that allows it to be able to withstand high winds from storms. This highly durable palm has a slender trunk that’s gray in color, with a smooth surface. Canopy consists of 8-10 fronds that bush out like fox tails, giving the palm its name. Leaves grow 8-10′ long and are bushy in appearance. Produces flowery branches that have flowers clustered together, then yields oval fruit in clusters. Fruit starts out green, then turns to yellow, orange, and red and hangs like a pod. This palm needs a quality soil to keep its nutrient level high.
